US FINAL RULING - PACKAGING MATERIALS

Please be advised that the final ruling on  Wood packing  was published in September of this year and takes effect one year on -  16 September 2005 - From that date on, all wood packing material associated with cargo or imported into the United States must be treated and marked according to international standards and this ruling.

Additionally, it is expected that formal statements will be required on transit paperwork ( export invoices / Bill of lading / air-waybill) to the effect that the shipment complies or is free of wood packing. However, this alone may not relieve shipments from inspection.

Our airfreight department is already fully conversant with the new rulings and are members of the "UK WMP" and our name appears on their website as approved packers.

These are standard regulations available on government internet for customers/shippers doing business to the USA, but are attached herewith for your convenience.
